Gas and Oil Boiler Servicing

What are the benefits of having my boiler serviced?
To ensure that poisonous gases are not escaping into your home.
To ensure the boiler is working at full efficiency.
To minimise breakdowns.

We service both gas & oil boilers with a certificate at the end showing proof of your service & what has been done.
So what is involved in a boiler service?

For an oil boiler:

  • The boiler is visually checked for defective or failing parts.
  • The boiler is then run & tested for a short time.
  • The burner unit is removed from the heat exchanger.
  • The jet nozzle is replaced.
  • The heat exchanger is cleaned & hoovered.
  • The oil pressure is checked to make sure the right amount of fuel is being delivered.
  • The boiler gases are analysed to allow the final adjustments to the oil & air intake to maximise the efficiency of the boiler.
  • A printout from the gas analyser is then stapled to your OFTEC boiler service certificate.
  • The boiler is then heat tested whilst I finish my nice cup of tea.

For a gas boiler:

  • The boiler is visually checked for defective or failing parts.
  • The boiler is then run & tested for a short time.
  • The burner unit is removed form the heat exchanger & hovered.
  • The heat exchanger is cleaned & hoovered.
  • The gas supply & boiler are checked for gas leaks (soundness check)
  • The gas pressure is checked to make sure the right amount of fuel is being delivered.
  • The boiler gases are analysed to allow the final adjustments to the gas & air intake to maximise the efficiency of the boiler.
  • A printout from the gas analyser is then stapled to your CORGI boiler service certificate.
  • The boiler is then heat tested whilst I finish my nice cup of tea.

A boiler service should take between ¾ to an hour, anything less & the job is not being done properly.

If you have an oil boiler & it breaks down we guarantee we will get it working again, so you won’t be left without heating & hot water
